Lesser known iPhone hack will make your battery last longer

An inconvenient occurence in today's digital era is when you're on-the-go and need to be connected, but your phone battery drains. However, there are simple tips and tricks to salvage your battery on an iPhone-and they don't always require too much effort or technical knowledge.

How does placing your phone down save your battery?
If you're somebody who receives a lot of emails and messages, placing your phone face down will make sure the screen doesn't light up every time you get a notification. The screen lighting up every time you get a notification boosts battery drainage.
If your phone is on vibrate or has the ringer on, you'll still know when you have a notification, without the screen lighting up and draining your battery.
Facedown Detection was introduced in 2019 with iOS 9
The reason this hack works is because of Facedown Detection, a feature introduced with iOS 9. With Facedown Detection, the iPhone knows when its face is down on a surface due to proximity sensors and ambient light.
This then prevents the screen from lighting up even when the phone has a notification.
Try to limit the number of notifications you receive
Receiving too many notifications can also drain battery. It's easy to limit this-go to settings, select "Notifications" and turn off Allow Notifications for whichever app you don't need to hear from.
